The festivities were launched on 21 February 2025 in the presence of Federal Councillor Elisabeth Baume-Schneider.
Throughout the year, Friedrich Dürrenmatt's office is open every Sunday, in addition to Saturdays.
In 2025, schools in Switzerland will benefit from free workshops, guided tours and self-guided tours.
A new interactive terminal on the architecture of the CDN by Mario Botta and the living spaces of Friedrich Dürrenmatt has been installed in the museum.
A new display case dedicated to ‘The Visit’, the play that made Dürrenmatt famous throughout the world, has been added to the permanent exhibition.
On 21 September, an event will be held in conjunction with the Botanical Garden, with the participation of other organisations.
Three temporary exhibitions will be held throughout the year:
- From 21 February to 22 June, ‘Lotti & Friedrich Dürrenmatt - Music’ presents a still little-known facet of Friedrich Dürrenmatt's work and pays tribute to his first wife Lotti Geissler, whose piano is used in several concerts.
- From 5 July to 9 November, an exhibition on Dürrenmatt and football will take place. In a nod to the Women's Euro football tournament being played in Switzerland, the exhibition explores the writer and painter's passion for football, his works on the subject and his links with the Neuchâtel Xamax team.
- From 22 November 2025 to March 2026, an exhibition with young artists will present the results of the three-year exchange project between the CDN and the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK), with the participation of the WhiteSpaceBlackBox Foundation and the Académie de Meuron, a visual arts school in Neuchâtel.
Partnerships are being formed with theatres that are staging plays by Dürrenmatt (stage fringes, introduction, cultural mediation with schools).
Other events and festivities will be announced gradually.
